Tata Harrier.ev Initial Impressions | MOTORINE

Tata launches the all new harrier.ev at an introductory price of 21.49 Lakhs


The all new harrier.ev offers an all wheel drive set up which tata likes to call it as quad wheel drive technology. It comes with six terrain response modes inspired by landrover which include- Normal,Rock crawl,Mud ruts,Snow and Grass,Sand and Custom.

POWERTRAIN:-

 It comes with a 65&75KWh battery pack which is similar to it's main rivals. It gets option of both QWD AND RWD layouts.The base 65KWh battery powering the rear wheels delivers 238 HP.
The top spec QWD variant has two motors one for both front wheels and the other one for the rear wheels which delivers a combined output of 396HP and 504Nm of torque. The claimed range is about 627kms whereas in real world conditions we could expect between 480-505kms.It goes from 0-100kmph in a whopping 6.3 seconds which is the fastest in the segment.


DIMENSIONS:-

The harrier.ev is slightly bigger in terms of size when compared to the ice version of the harrier. Its dimensions include length of 4607mm,width of 2132mm and height of 1740mm. It is 2mm longer,210mm wider and 22mm taller but still retains the same wheelbase of 2741mm. Its gets a boot space of 502L which is more than that of the ice harrier.

CHARGING:-

It takes 25 minutes to charge this beast from 20-80% with a 120kW D.C fast charger

SAFETY:-

It comes with 6 airbags as standard across all variants. It is also equipped with Level 2 ADAS in the top spec variants. It also comes with a 540-degree camera which also shows underneath view which makes parking in tight space a cake walk and also enhances safety.
The SUV is also equipped with AVAS (Accoustic Vehicle alert system) which makes artificial sounds so that pedestrians could get to know that vehicle is nearby without even looking at it.



FEATURES LIST:-

Well the equipment list is too long as it get tonnes of first in segment features.
The MID(multi information display) is a 12 inch unit whereas the infortainment system is a 14 inch display by harman powered by samsungs QLED technology which is first time in world for an automotive display. This screen contains in-built navigation with mapples auto. It also gets drive pay technology in which you can make payments right in your car's screen.

It also gets and arcade.ev app which is limited to tata's electric vehicles which contains lot of games and social media apps.

Excluding the infortainment system you get all the regular features like 6 way powered drivers seat with memory function and a 4 way powered co-driver's seat. It also gets powered tailgate which is carry forwarded from the ice version of the harrier.
It also gets a first in segment feature called the clear lens camera where the camera is placed on the shark fin antenna of the car and it is visible in the irvm of the vehicle.It also gets V2L technology (vehicle to load) in which we can charge other vehicles which is seen in much premier ev's like ioniq5 and kia ev6.

RIVALS:-

It is positioned above Hyundai Creta ev and Maruti Suzuki e-vitara
but still undercuts the mahindra's electric twins i.e BE6&XEV9e.
The bookings will commence on 2nd of July 2025.
