Volkswagen had launched their golf gti in India at an introductory price of 52.99Lakhs.
Volkswagen introduced the facelifted version of the 8th generation to India.
EXTERIOR AND DIMENSIONS:-
The exterior styling is too good as it attracts every type of audience and it isn't polarising. It also has an illuminated volkswagen logo which looks cool in the night. The hatchback resembles the hyundai creta in terms of dimensions as it is almost similar in terms of length,width and wheelbase. It has a length,breadth,height of 4289mm,1789mm,1471mm respectively. For the interior to be spacious it holds a very good wheelbase of 2627mm. It has a boot space of 380L which isn't much considering the price of the car. The ground clearance of the car is significantly low at 136mm
which might bother us due to the condition of our roads.
ENGINE AND PERFOMANCE:-
It comes with a single 2L inline-4 cylinder engine which gives an output of 264HP and 370Nm of torque powering the front wheels. It is the same engine which does duty on different VAG cars like the audi a4,a6 etc. It is paired to a 7 speed DSG gearbox which is blisteringly quick with its shifts and takes the car from 0 to 100kmph in a span of 5.9 seconds.It also gets paddle shifters which is integrated to the steering wheel. It gets 18 inch diamond cut alloys which looks good but feels like an ev's wheels with it's aerodynamic design.
SAFETY:-
End of the day it's a volkswagen so it cannot miss out on safety. It get's 7 airbags and a XDS front differential lock to ensure the grip levels. It also gets some basic ADAS features like front collision warning, emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and all the regular features. However it misses out on a 360 degree parking camera which is a very big miss at this price point.
INTERIOR:-
It gets an all black interior with leatheratte seats which has a premium alcantara finish to it. It also gets red inserts and gti badging on the steering wheel as well as on the seats to ensure that it is a perfomance-oriented vehicle and to uplift the sporty levels in the cabin of this beast.
FEATURES AND EQUIPMENT:-
It gets a 10.25inch multi-information display which vw likes to call it as digital cockpit pro which has customisable options. It gets a 12.9 inch infortainment which is paired to a 7 speaker immersive audio system with wired and wireless carplay options. It also gets wireless charging. It gets 30 colour ambient lighting to enhance the cabin experience at night. However more colour options are expected at this price point.
COLOUR OPTIONS:-
It gets four colour options which include oryx white, kings metallic red, grenadilla metallic black and moonstone grey.

VERDICT:-
If you are looking for a secondary car which is extremely fun and makes you standout in the weekend rides the this is the car for you.
It just amazes you with it's perfomance and sound. As it is a CBU import and due to the high taxation in India the car is very expensive as it costs you around 65Lakhs when it comes to on-road. But as a product it is phenomenal as it gives you a blend of raw perfomance and modern touches.
